"To portray the ordinary Rhineland infantryman of 1916–1918 as accurately as research allows — his kit, his conduct, and the ground he stood on — so that his story is carried forward rather than forgotten."
We are a founding unit built around Infanterie-Regiment „von Horn" Nr. 29, chosen for its documented Catholic-Rhineland recruiting ground and its presence at nearly every major engagement of the Western Front. Our aim is living history in the fullest sense: correct kit, correct conduct, and a persona grounded in real regimental and regional history.
Kit and persona choices are checked against primary regimental sources before they become unit standard.
We portray IR 29's actual campaign history — the Marne, the Somme, Flanders — rather than a generic "German soldier."
New members start at Musketier or as a Rekrut; kit standards and mentorship scale with commitment.
